I volunteered for Project Starfish because I saw an alignment in my values with the program from the get go. This program serves a community that needs external guidance, and for some it’s a chance again at reaching their aspirations. This program taught me how essential it is to lead with empathy, optimism and perseverance. The satisfaction of guiding my first batch to their academic success fuels me for subsequent years.
Glad to be in a volunteering program that I can be passionate about. My motivations right now is learning to better manage the internal stakeholders, honing organisational development skills. On the bigger picture I hope to be able to pursue a career in education, specifically in assisting underserved community schools all over the world.
