I was introduced to Project Starfish by a friend of mine who shared fondly about his experience. I decided to volunteer because I resonated with the aim of the program, which was to empower youths to finish their secondary school education.
During my time there, I had a great time connecting with the students and was inspired by their determination and tenacity to pursue their educational goals. I was also very inspired by the fellow volunteers who were dedicated to the program, and was able to see how the program helped the students both academically and in building their self-confidence. The experience was a very rewarding one which reinforced the importance of having such supportive communities.
